Freecycle Network 5 Million Members Strong

Freecycle Network offers a fabulous way to reduce waste.

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,487 groups with 5,223,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer. Membership is free.

Freecycle has been a hot topic in the media lately. Unfortunately, the Freecycle Network is often portrayed wrong in the media. It is not just a place to just go get free stuff for nothing. It is a place to give or receive what you have and don't need or what you need and don't have -- a free cycle of giving which keeps stuff out of landfills. That perspective makes all the difference.

The mission of Free cycle network is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources and eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community.
