Bullfrog Films is the oldest and largest publisher of videos and films about the environment in the United States. Their website features over 700 different films complete with trailers. Union of Concerned Scientists

The Union of Concerned Scientists is an advocacy organization that conducts rigorous, independent scientific research to help solve our planet’s most pressing problems. Their main focus areas are clean energy, clean vehicles, food, global warming, nuclear power, and nuclear weapons. The organization has over 500,000 supporters. Their website offers in-depth information on all of the campaigns that are underway and you can easily get involved by instantly sending letters to legislators and decision makers using prefilled email forms.

Omega Institute

Omega Institute is a nonprofit organization founded on the holistic worldview that the well-being of each of us is deeply connected to the well-being of all living things. Since 1977, Omega has offered educational experiences that inspire an integrated approach to personal and social change. The Omega Center for Sustainable Living demonstrates and teaches what is possible through regenerative design. Housed in the Eco Machine building, visitors and students can learn how to create a path toward a sustainable future. Omega also offers hundreds of workshops, conferences, and teacher training programs in the areas of body, mind, spirit, health, relationships, creative expression, leadership, and sustainable living.

World Resources Institute

World Resources Institute is a global research organization dedicated to protecting the environment for current and future generations. Their main areas of focus are catalyzing a low-carbon economy, advancing clean energy, reducing the environmental impact of the world's food systems, reducing forest loss, mitigating global water risks, and scaling sustainable urban transport solutions. World Resources Institute takes action by partnering with governments and businesses. For example, last year World Resources Institute was instrumental in obtaining pledges to restore millions of acres of land in Latin American, getting commitments from 300 cities to take action to manage greenhouse gas emissions, and convincing 400 large companies to reduce food waste by 50%. Rainforest Action Network

Rainforest Action Network is an activist organization that campaigns for the forests, their inhabitants, and the natural systems that sustain life. The organization focuses on preserving rainforests, protecting the climate, and defending human rights. They approach these issues through education, grassroots organizing, and non-violent direct action. Rainforest Action Network envisions a world where forests become healthy, rights of all communities are respected, and corporate profits never come at the expense of people or the planet. Pesticide Action Network

Pesticide Action Network is an activist organization working to create a safe food system. Pesticides have resulted in health and economic burdens on farmers, farmworkers, and rural communities. Earth Island Institute

Earth Island Institute was founded in 1982 by environmentalist David Brower as an umbrella organization that allows small environmental initiatives to quickly get started. Earth Island Institute provides administration and program management for projects that address pressing environmental and social issues. Since their founding, Earth Island Institute has provided fiscal sponsorship to more than 100 projects around the globe. By sharing resources, Earth Island’s organizations benefit from the synergistic exchange of experience and ideas, making its members more effective together than apart. Mother Nature Network is one of the most visited online sites for news and information about the environment and responsible living. Its content is easy-to-understand and is targeted for people who want to make the world a better place.  Time has been called Mother Nature Network “The Green CNN”. Organic Consumers Association

The Organic Consumers Association is a grassroots non-profit organization campaigning for health, justice, and sustainability. The Organic Consumers Association deals with crucial issues including food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, children's health, corporate accountability, Fair Trade, and environmental sustainability. Their website is a great place to learn about biotechnology, rBGH, genetically modified organisms, organic food, sustainable agriculture, and sustainability.

New Dream

New Dream – formerly The Center for a New American Dream — empowers individuals, communities, and organizations to transform the ways they consume to improve well-being for people and the planet. The organization works with individuals and communities to counter the commercialization of our culture, support community engagement, and conserve natural resources. It seeks to change social norms around consumption and consumerism and to support the movement of individuals and communities pursuing lifestyle change and community action. New Dream’s overall goal is to change behavior, attitudes, and social norms to reduce consumption, build community, and improve quality of life.

Environmental Working Group

The Environmental Working Group a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment. The Environmental Working Group includes a team of scientists, policy experts, lawyers, communication experts, and programmers who stand up for public health when government and industry won’t. They publish reports, online databases, and communications campaigns that educate and empower consumers to make safer and more informed decisions about the products they buy and the companies they support. In response to consumer pressure initiated by The Environmental Working Group, companies have given up  dangerous ingredients and improved their practices. Covering a wide range of environmental topics, the Environmental Working Group publishes information about tap water, shampoo, sunscreen, household cleaners, pesticides in food, fracking, and GMOs and they present their findings on their visually friendly website.

Bioneers

Bioneers is a nonprofit educational organization that highlights visionary solutions for the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. Bioneers connects with people through national conferences, radio programs, books, and media projects such as Leonardo DiCaprio’s film The 11th Hour. Bioneers also provides sustainability educational materials to schools and colleges, sponsors a women's leadership program, and leads efforts to help re-indigenize our societies.

Northwest Earth Institute

Northwest Earth Institute was founded in 1993 with a simple objective: to give people a framework to talk about our relationship with the planet and to share in discovering new ways to live, work, create, and consume. Northwest Earth Institute provides easy and fun ways for people to create positive action for the environment. One of the ways they do this is through the EcoChallenge program. EcoChallenge helps you share your own stories about how you live, work, create, and consume. Care2 - Petitions for Change

Care2 was founded in 1998 with a simple mission: to help make the world a better place. Their 37 million users start and join thousands of petitions supporting animal welfare, environmental issues, wildlife, women's rights, and human rights. When you create or sign a petition through Care2, you become part of the Care2 community where each participant helps each other.  Your signature conveys your support for the issues you care about. Care2 petitions cover a wide range of environmental issues like protecting endangered wildlife, advocating for sustainable energy policy, requesting better funding for climate change research, or urging states to ban the use of pesticides. EarthTalk - Environmental News

EarthTalk is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help people understand complex environmental issues, promote sustainability, and live greener lives. They produce a weekly educational column, syndicated to 1700 media outlets across North America with a combined readership of over 80 million people. EarthTalk picks the most relevant and timely questions received from readers and responds with 500-word answers that are distributed to their syndication partners for publication in newspapers, magazines and websites. The EarthTalk website serves as the online home of the column and is full of interesting and informative articles about sustainability.

Their purpose is to reverse the destruction of the natural world by challenging the beliefs and practices that are enabling this destruction and by providing inspirational and practical alternatives that promote sustainable living. Global Exchange is an international human rights organization dedicated to promoting social, economic, and environmental justice. Global Exchange tackles some of the most critical issues of our time like challenging corporate power, reducing our oil addiction, creating local green economies, campaigning for fair trade, monitoring elections, and training young adults in green careers. Global Exchange partners with Green America to put on the annual Green Festival, the largest sustainability event in the world.
